Dr. Cheryl Barton, Optometrist
Dr. Barton is a graduate of Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She grew up in Chattanooga, TN. She began practicing in Pensacola in 1998, and opened Woodbine Eye Care in 2000. Her areas of interest include children’s vision, contact lens fitting, and managing ocular disease. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Pace Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Pensacola Ski Club. One of her favorite parts of her job is visiting the preschool to do eye screenings and a eye safety talk. Her charities include Sight for Students and eye exams and glasses for children in financial need. She is also excited that our office is making time to collect and donate to the community organizations that are in constant need of help.
Dr. Cheryl is blessed with twin boys who were born in 2004. When she is not at the office, they keep her busy with school, soccer, and trips to the library!
Dr. Trace Barton, Optometrist
Dr. Barton is a graduate of NOVA Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He grew up in Cooper City, FL. He began practicing in Pensacola in 1998, and joined Woodbine Eye Care in 2004. His areas of interest include Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Pace Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Pensacola Ski Club.
Dr. Barton keeps busy training and driving his twin boys to soccer. He likes to do local 5k runs, and is an avid NFL fan!
Dr. Linh Van, Optometrist
Doctor Linh Van is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry. She has lived in many states including Michigan, Colorado, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. Her Alma Mater is the University of Florida and she loves watching Gator football. Go Gators!”
Martha Osteen CPOA, Office Administrator
Martha has been with Woodbine Eye Care since our opening day in 2000, and always has a smile on her face! Although Martha works mostly on the Optical Floor, her 18 years of experience make her knowledgeable in all areas of our office!
Martha’s son is currently serving our country in the Air Force, and her daughter is a Microbiologist at Sacred Heart Hospital. She is the proud grandmother of five!
Chad Mikell, Optician Lab Manager
Chad came to our office with twelve years of experience, and has been with Woodbine Eye Care for over ten! In addition to frame and lens selection, Chad is in charge of the in-house laboratory and is personally edging the lenses for each frame.
Chad is the proud father of three beautiful daughters, and a kind wife. On his days off, Chad spends much of his free time creating wooden furniture pieces!
Dee Tinney CPO, Front Office Coordinator
Dee has been with our practice for 13 years and never forgets a face! She enjoys being the first person to greet our patients and is able to recognize most of them before they enter the office! She can assist you with making appointments, answering insurance questions, and setting up auto-ship to save you time and money on your contacts.
Dee has two intelligent children that are currently pursuing degrees at Auburn University and the University of West Florida. She and her husband enjoy going to the beach, traveling, and working out. Dee is a dog lover and currently has three fur babies!
Karin Travis, CPO, Front Office Coordinator
Karin has been with our office since 2005. At the front desk, she assists with appointments and reminders, insurance coverage, and contact lens ordering.
Karin is married to an outdoors lover, and she is very fond of the beach herself. They are the proud parents of a sweet, energetic 4-year-old girl.
Denise Long, CPO, Front Office Coordinator
Denise came to us in 2010, and after excelling in many different areas, progressed to our busy front desk. She takes care of insurance authorizations, contact lens orders, and our email communication. She can also answer any questions regarding your vision insurance benefits.
Denise has been married for 19 years and is the mother of a bright, wonderful son! She enjoys boating and camping on the beach.
Jamie Burkett, Insurance Coordinator, Accounting
Jamie is one of the friendly faces at our front desk and has been with our practice for four years. She is responsible for our insurance claims and patient statements. She is always more than happy to answer your insurance questions and does an excellent job helping our patients understand their benefits.
When away from the office, she enjoys watching football with her husband, crafting with her stepdaughter, and entertaining her one year old son. Go FSU!!
Jesse Draughon, LDO, ABO- NCLE
Jesse grew up in Pensacola and enjoys calling the Gulf Coast his home! He is a board certified optician with over 25 years of experience. His background began in an optical lab and has grown to cover many facets of the industry. His acquired knowledge is an asset when pairing critical issues with proper optical solutions.
Ashley McGlothren, Apprentice Optician, Optometric Assistant
Ashley started as an Optometric Assistant in 2015, and has expanded her knowledge to the optical floor. She’s our newest Apprentice Optician, and coordinates our Charity drive and fundraisers.
Ashley is a devoted wife, and mother to a precious baby girl! In her free time, she enjoys being involved in the local Performing Art Community, working on crafts with her daughter, and playing with her fur babies.
Sherry Scott, Optometric Assistant
Sherry started at Woodbine Eye Care in 2013, and has a total of 14 years of experience. She is knowledgeable when it comes to contact lenses, and is happy to answer any questions a patient may have about them.
Sherry has been married for 37 years, has 4 grown children, and 3 grandchildren! She is a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan (Go DAWGS!) When she is outside of the office, Sherry likes to spend her days at the beach, and with her grandchildren!
Danielle Sumrall, Certified Paraoptometric Assistant
Danielle has been with us since 2016 and recently became certified. She takes pride in doing Dry Eye Testing, performing Visual Fields, and expanding her knowledge with contact lenses.
Danielle is recently married and takes care of her sweet kitten, Aurora. She loves to do DIY projects around her home, spend time with family, and read anything she can get her hands on!
Ashley Higgs, Optometric Assistant
Ashley, our newest friendly face at the office, has a very kind smile and loving spirit! She enjoys pre-testing children, and teaching them how to wear their contacts!
Ashley is a proud Air Force wife, mother of two sons and one grandson. When she is not cheering on her son in his sporting events or traveling home to see family and friends, you will find her volunteering at the Pensacola Ronald McDonald house! #GoooPatriots
Allison Hogue, Optometric Assistant
Allison has worked in Optometry since 2016, and joined us in 2017. She is knowledgeable with Dry Eye Testing, contact lenses, and OCTs.
Allison was born and raised in Gulf Breeze. When she isn’t studying for nursing school, Allison loves to go kickboxing, cheer on Florida State, and relax at home with her two dogs, Gunner and Apollo. GO FSU!
Robin Lasater, Apprentice Optician
Robin recently joined our crew with many years of customer service experience and is quickly learning the ropes at Woodbine Eye Care.
Robin lights up the office with her great sense of humor and fun personality. Robin and her husband are parents to two adorable cats. Like many others in our office, she is also an avid fan of Florida State.
Hannah Starr, Optometric Assistant
Hannah is our newest Optometric Assistant. She enjoys teaching people how to care for their new contact lenses and performing OCTs.
Originally from Idaho, Hannah recently moved to Florida after graduating from James Madison University with a degree in biotechnology. She is the proud wife of a flight student at Whiting Field. Hannah also loves going home to play with her new kitten, Squeak.
