Photo of Dr. CherylDr. Cheryl Barton, Optometrist

Dr. Barton is a graduate of Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She grew up north of Chattanooga, TN. She began practicing in Pensacola in 1998 and opened Woodbine Eye Care in 2000. Her areas of interest include children’s vision, contact lens fitting, and managing ocular disease. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Pace Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Pensacola Ski Club. One of her favorite parts of her job is visiting the preschool to do eye screenings and eye safety talk. Her charities include Sight for Students and eye exams and glasses for children in financial need. She is also excited that our office is making time to collect and donate to the community organizations that are in constant need of help.

Dr. Cheryl is blessed with twin sons who were born in 2004. When she is not at the office, she enjoys watching their cross country meets and exercising.

Dr. Barton is a graduate of Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He grew up in Cooper City, FL. He began practicing in Pensacola in 1998 and joined Woodbine Eye Care in 2004. His areas of interest include Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Pace Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Pensacola Ski Club.

Dr. Barton enjoys cheering on his twin sons as they run track and cross country. He loves to golf and is an avid NFL fan!

Dr. Linh Van graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She has lived in many states including Michigan, Colorado, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. She moved to the panhandle in 2018 and plans to stay here for good! Her Alma Mater is the University of Florida and she loves watching Gator football. Go Gators!

Dr. Teutsch is a graduate of University of Birmingham College of Optometry. He grew up in Pensacola and did his undergraduate studies at the University of West Florida. He is excited to be back in his hometown providing eye care!

Martha has been with Woodbine Eye Care since our opening day in 2000, and always has a smile on her face! Although Martha works mostly on the Optical Floor, her 21 years of experience make her knowledgeable in all areas of our office!

Martha is the proud grandmother of six, and can often be found with a knitting needle in hand! Martha is also a great seamstress and takes pride in doing memory quilts and embroidery.

Chad has been with Woodbine Eye Care for 15 years and has over 26 years of optical experience! In addition to frame and lens selection, Chad is also in charge of the in-house laboratory.

Chad is the proud father of three beautiful daughters and a kind wife. On his days off, Chad spends much of his free time creating wooden furniture pieces!

Dee has been with our practice for 17 years and never forgets a face! She enjoys being the first person to greet our patients and can recognize most of them before they enter the office! She can assist you with making appointments, answering insurance questions, and setting up auto-ship to save you time and money on your contacts.

Dee has a son who graduated from Auburn University in May 2020 and a daughter who is a graduate of the University of West Florida. She is very proud of them both! She and her husband enjoy going to the beach, traveling, and working out. Dee is a dog lover and currently has three fur babies!


Karin Travis, Front Office Coordinator

Karin joined our office in 2005. At the front desk, she assists with appointments and reminders, insurance coverage, and contact lens ordering.

Karin is married to an outdoors lover, and she is very fond of the beach herself. They are the proud parents of a sweet, energetic 8-year-old girl.


Jamie Burkett, Insurance Coordinator, Accounting

Jamie is one of the friendly faces at our front desk and has been with our practice for four years. She is responsible for our insurance claims and patient statements. She is always more than happy to answer your insurance questions and does an excellent job helping our patients understand their benefits.

When away from the office, she enjoys watching football with her husband, crafting with her stepdaughter, and entertaining her one year old son. Go FSU!!

Jesse grew up in Pensacola and enjoys calling the Gulf Coast his home! He is a board certified optician with over 25 years of experience. His background began in an optical lab and has grown to cover many facets of the industry. His acquired knowledge is an asset when pairing critical issues with proper optical solutions.

Danielle joined the tech crew in 2016. She takes pride in doing Dry Eye Testing and expanding her knowledge with different types of contacts. She loves to pretest children and do a pre-screening with the doctors at local preschools.

At home Danielle and her husband enjoy reading books to their newborn son, playing video games together, and trying out new recipes. Danielle also loves audiobooks, learning new crafts, and the Hibachi chicken at our local Tokyo Express!

Perry has full knowledge of a full-service lab, including surfacing and finishing of optical lenses. He is also skilled in dispensing, neutralizing, and troubleshooting of optical lenses.

Perry and his beautiful wife Tracey have three wonderful adult children. He is also a diehard Florida State Seminole fan.

Brianna joined us in 2019 and has been a wonderful addition to our office. She enjoys working with patients who wear contacts and learning about insurance.

When off from work, Brianna likes to fish with her husband John or relax under her umbrella at Navarre Beach! Brianna admires turtles. She loves them so much she has one of her own. His name is Ace Murgatroyd Coutee.


Ireri Whitfield, Optometric Assistant

Ireri joined our crew in 2019. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She loves to work hands-on with scleral contact lenses, take anterior segment photos, and work up our Lasik Pre-op patients by doing pachymetry and topography.

After work, Ireri likes to go home and play with her daughter, read books, or go four-wheeling with her husband, David. She also enjoys being outside, spending time with her two piglets, Napoleon and Joaquin, and her golden retriever, Loki.

Christy loves to learn about the patients that she assists in the optical department. She enjoys getting to know them on a personal level and helping them make the best choices in eyewear for their needs. It is rewarding to her to be a part of making the patient’s vision the best it can be.

A South Carolina native, Christy is the wife of a retired USAF Federal Agent and has enjoyed living in many different places, but is very happy to call the Pace/Milton area home. Christy and her husband have three amazing children: Lydia, Abbey, and Braeden. She enjoys the beach, watching car drifting events with her son, horse shows and dance competitions with her girls, and spending time with her husband. Christy is about to become a grandma for the first time and is over the moon with excitement to become a Nonna!

Gabby is part of our Tech crew. She enjoys taking retinal photos with our Optomap, working-up glaucoma patients needing visual fields, and performing OCTs.

Currently, Gabby is studying to enter optometry school. When home, Gabby loves to play with her energetic puppy, Maple. She also enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.

Emily loves to teach new contact lens wearers how to properly handle their lenses. She also enjoys taking macula and optic nerve OCTs.

Emily likes to travel, spend time on our beautiful beaches, kayak on lazy rivers, and hang out with her family and friends. She is a sweet soul and likes to try anything at least once.

In 2020, our office gained its favorite comedian, Walker. He assists in the lab verifying prescriptions, troubleshooting, and cutting lenses to fit glasses.

Walker loves long walks on the beach and dressing as a UPS man during our Halloween Parties. During his free time, Walker shows his inner Bear Grylls by extreme backpacking.

Marlena has been working in optical positions since 2001. She loves assisting with eyewear needs, from repairs to filling and measuring for new glasses.

When she is not working, Marlena loves to spend time with the love of her life, Bruce. They are proud of their two sons. Together, they enjoy going to church, golfing, gardening, and searching through flea markets.

Haylee likes to pretest patients of all ages and performing Lasik pre-ops by doing Pachymetry and topography. She also enjoys teaching new contact wearers how to handle their lenses and getting eye pressure with icare.

Haylee enjoys painting landscapes. When she is not painting, she enjoys taking walks with her husband and spending quality time with her two adorable cats, Rocky and Adrienne.

Kelly and her husband have been married for nine years. She is also the mother of two wonderful children.

Our newest addition to the Tech Deck is Nicole! She speaks both Spanish and English. She enjoys chatting with patients, checking contacts, and flipping eyelids for our JENVIS dry eye testing.

Nicole is currently seeking a degree in graphic design and is also very talented with a pencil and paper! She is a fashionista who enjoys tacos and Asian cuisine.


Olivia Cook, Optometric Assistant

Our newest technician hails from Mississippi. Olivia loves to take retinal photos on our Optomap and she also enjoys taking pictures of the macula on the OCT.
Olivia is happiest when she is saltwater fishing with her boyfriend. Her proudest catch was a 40″ Redfish! She also enjoys working on her tan at our stunning beaches.
